“In 2003, I had to have both knees replaced and had problems recovering due to my weight and immobility. I ate to fill sadness, frustration, and pain that I felt every day. I moved in with mother because I could no longer take care of my family or myself. I went to my son’s graduation in a wheelchair. My mother talked me into joining TOPS. It’s one of the best choices I’ve ever made. I learned to set small goals and celebrate every success, no matter how small, knowing the big goals weren’t far behind. I thank everyone who helped make my success happen. My total loss to goal of 179.25 pounds has made me the new Michigan State Queen!”
