“As high school senior, I joined TOPS after my mom, grandma and aunt joined. I was tired of being teased and called names every day. It took me several years because of how hard it was for me to do the exercise and lose the weight for good. I would lose some and then gain some back. This has been one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. I encourage everyone not to give up on your struggles because you, too, could end up right here on this stage, like me. I feel amazing after losing all of this weight, and I have the support of my TOPS friends and family. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do it, because I believe you can.”
