I married my wife, Mary, in 1964. I reminded her of James Dean, as I was a rebel and lived life in the fast lane. I’ve since mellowed, but my health issues grew as I gained weight. I had high blood pressure, chronic pancreatitis, sleep apnea, congestive heart failure and diabetes. I joined TOPS in 2006 weighing 266 pounds. Then, I didn’t lose—I gained 25 pounds! Last year, I got serious and, on our 46th wedding anniversary, reached KOPS status with a 97.75-pound loss. I no longer take medication for high blood pressure and no longer have sleep apnea or diabetes. I am now honored and proud to say I am Florida’s State King!
