I’ve
been on many diets in the past, and no
matter how much weight I lost, I always
gained it back, plus more. I had become a
weight-loss expert because of my failures.
This time around, however, I created a plan
that best suited my lifestyle. The key for
me is maintenance: weekly weigh-ins,
exercise and balanced meals. I realized I
had to see eating as a lifestyle, not a
diet. I can’t eliminate all the stressors in
my life, but I can learn to deal with them
more effectively. I can also set realistic
and flexible goals for myself. TOPS meetings
and accountability to the scale keep me on
track each and every week.
