TOPS Club, Inc. is the original, nonprofit, weight-loss support and wellness education organization. Our program is scientifically proven and has helped millions over the last 60+ years. TOPS promotes successful, affordable weight management with a hands-on pounds-off® approach that combines:

  1. healthy eating
  2. regular physical activity
  3. wellness information
  4. awards and recognition
  5. support from others at weekly chapter meetings

Weekly meetings provide a supportive, educational environment where people are encouraged and not judged. If face-to-face meetings aren’t your style or if you can’t find a meeting that fits your schedule, you can be an online member and still take advantage of our experts’ tips and our many print and online materials. Plus, you can choose to join a chapter at any time in the future or change chapters.

With nearly 10,000 chapters across the U.S. and Canada, each meeting is a little different, so you might want to visit a few meetings in your area to find the one that’s best for you.

The first visit to any chapter is free.

  1. Each meeting starts with a private Weigh-In, so you can stay accountable to the goals you’ve set for yourself.
  2. That’s often followed by Roll Call, which is a chance for members to share challenges, successes, or goals if they wish to.
  3. Many chapters hand out Awards each week or month and participate in the TOPS International Recognition program.
  4. TOPS experts on nutrition, fitness, and motivation share their best tips for taking off pounds sensibly in our brief, interactive Chapter Programs, presented by volunteer Leaders.
  5. The meeting closes with a Thought for the Week or other inspirational activity.

So what do I do in between meetings or if I’m an online member?

  1. Follow the six steps to a healthier, leaner lifestyle outlined in My Day One, a ready-set-go guide for weight loss that you receive free with your membership.
  2. Choose foods you enjoy, in moderation, on the TOPS meal plan. The flexible guidelines help you control calories while eating real food that you make at home or order in a restaurant.
  3. Stay inspired and informed by reading your free subscription to TOPS News magazine. Delivered straight to your doorstep and available in the Members Area of the TOPS website, TOPS News includes stories of member successes, expert advice, and more.
  4. Explore the many free tools available in the Members Area of www.tops.org, including a weight tracker, video library, extensive health and wellness library, self-care program, and more. TOPS also has a number of tools exclusively available for purchase by members.
  5. Keep in touch with other members through Facebook, email, or phone calls. Ask for the support you need.

How much does it cost?

It costs about $30 a year to belong to TOPS, plus local chapter dues of about $5 a month. There’s nothing else to buy, although TOPS does offer its members a wide variety of helpful books and other merchandise for purchase and holds events and retreats that may require a registration fee. None of these are required as part of our weight-loss program, but we strongly recommend The Choice Is Mine, a 232-page lifestyle guide chock full of valuable information that will help you stop the cycle of yo-yo dieting and start living a healthy, satisfying life.

If you join at a meeting, the annual fee for United States residents and those with U.S. mailing addresses (including APO) is just $28. Canadian residents pay $32.

Register now online no matter where you live for just $29.50 and gain same-day access to the Members Area of our site. Print your registration and take it with you to the chapter you want to join or remain an online member. It’s up to you.
