Bob O. - Lost 138.25 lb. - 2016 International King Runner Up

Height: 5' 9"    Achievement: 138.25 lb. lost with TOPS    Chapter: TOPS PA 0977 Oil City

Although I had managed to lose a few pounds in 2014, my life was still a mess. I was stressed out and depressed about my weight, loneliness and my financial situation. I was fully convinced that I would never gain control of my weight. And because of my family history, I knew I was a prime candidate for heart disease and diabetes. I was afraid there was no hope.

But God led me in a different direction. Through a new church, I was introduced to TOPS and began my weight-loss journey. The biggest hurdle I had to overcome was the emotional eating due to depression. But whenever I began to feel depressed, someone from my TOPS family would cheer me up. The words of encouragement, supportive hugs and pats on the back gave me the motivation I needed to keep going.

The support I received helped me reach my goal weight, KOPS* status and the State King title. I am now totally off my diabetes and thyroid medication. My blood pressure medication has been cut in half. I couldn’t have done this without all of you at TOPS. Sometimes, just knowing someone cares is all it takes to turn a person’s life around.
